Our Douglas fir Cladding is cut from our mature timber to ensure a tight straight grain that is relatively knot-free. This makes it an excellent alternative to Oak, being lighter and having less shrinkage, it can be the perfect material for a home or garden product. As with added benefit of almost half the price of oak. Freshly sawn, it has a pinkish colour which, over time mellows to a beautiful orange. With a lower moisture content, Douglas fir can season faster than dense hardwood. This enables the Douglas to be a stable and predictable material to work with while retaining its character and strength. Our fresh-sawn Douglas can be cut with accuracy to meet your needs.
